Navigating Sex in Therapy 2026 Consultation Group

An ongoing consultation and learning group for clinicians who want greater comfort, confidence, and clinical clarity when sexual topics arise in general therapy.

No Requirement to Attend all Sessions

2x Monthly Sessions

Starting March 9th, 2026 - Consultation Groups will be held on Mondays at 12 noon (EST) via Zoom. These will be held twice a month.

This is not a certification program or sex therapy training. It’s a thoughtful, clinically grounded space to build skills, reflect on cases, and strengthen decision-making.

Collaborate Openly

Talk with other clinicians on the best practices to talk about sex with your clients. Learn more about clinical decision making. Discuss methods on working with clients that experience concerns with Sexual Trauma & Function.

Pay As You Attend

You do not have to attend every session to get the most of the consultation group. There will be altering sessions between Learning Focused sessions and Case Consultation Studies.

Low Cost, High Return

The group is appropriate for a range of comfort levels: from clinicians who feel unsure how to raise sexual topics, to those who already do so and want to deepen their clinical thinking and confidence.

Hosted by Sex Therapy expert, Dr. Morag Yule, past president of SSTAR & Owner/Director of Ontario Sex Therapy.

What To Expect From Sessions

Sessions will alternate between didactic-style learning-focused sessions and case consultation/discussion sessions

  • Learning-focused sessions will typically include brief teaching on a specific topic (often 30-40 minutes) followed by brief discussion.

  • Consultation sessions will focus on case material, clinical questions, and shared problem-solving.

Participants regularly receive curated handouts and resources, suggested clinician and client readings, and practical tools that can be integrated into general therapy practice.

Session topics will be shared in advance, allowing you to prioritize sessions that feel most relevant.

Topics vary year to year and are informed by participant interests, but examples include:

    • Assessing sexual concerns & talking about sex in therapy

    • Sexual myths, beliefs, and their clinical impact

    • Psychoeducation on sexuality and sexual function

    • Sexual concerns related to mental health conditions and psychiatric medications

    • Working with individuals, couples, and relationships around sexual issues

    • Identifying and navigating sex-related OCD (e.g., sexual orientation OCD, pedophilia OCD)

    • Sexual and relationship orientations (e.g., asexuality, polyamory, kink)

    • Trauma, body image, and sexual function

    • Sexual pain and common interventions

    • Introduction to sex therapy techniques (e.g., sensate focus)

    • Compulsive sexual behavior

    • Navigating pornography use in clinical contexts
