Mikaela Wasserman, M.A, MEd, RP, CCC,

Mikaela Wasserman is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC). She holds a Master of Education in Counselling Psychology from the University of Ottawa, a Master of Arts in Couple and Family Therapy from Adler University, and a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Psychology (specialization in Behavioural Neuroscience) from Concordia University.

Mikaela has substantial research and clinical training in human sexuality and practices from a systemic and humanistic lens. Her work is grounded in systems theory and relational processing and is informed by training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Narrative Therapy. She also integrates elements of Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness practices to meet the unique needs of each client.

She works with individuals and relationships of all genders, sexual orientations, relationship orientations, and cultural/ethnic/racial backgrounds creating an inclusive and supportive environment to explore challenges and foster growth. Her clinical experience and training include work with polyamory/ethical non-monogamy, trauma, neurodivergence, and interpersonal conflict, as well as addressing issues related to anxiety, shame, and anger. Mikaela supports clients with concerns such as desire discrepancies in relationships, low sexual desire, out of control sexual behaviour, sexual pain, difficulties with arousal and orgasm, performance anxiety, unique sexual interests and other relationship challenges.

An LGBTQ2+, kink-, and sex-positive therapist, Mikaela respects and affirms the diverse experiences her clients bring to therapy. She understands sexuality as an important part of life, with the potential to provide joy, connection, and intimacy, while also recognizing that it can be complex and challenging. She offers a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can openly explore their sexual experiences, concerns, and goals—working collaboratively toward creating the fulfilling sex life and relationships they desire.

Mikaela is currently available for virtual sessions Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
