The founder and director of Ontario Sex Therapy, Dr. Morag Yule received her PhD in clinical psychology from the University of British Columbia (UBC) and completed her clinical residency at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) in Toronto. Dr. Yule has been involved in sex research since 2005, providing psychotherapy and assessments for sexual difficulties since 2010.

Dr. Yule provides empirically-supported psychological services for a broad range of sexual issues. She has extensive training and experience treating sexual dysfunction, including problems with sexual desire, difficulty experiencing sexual arousal and orgasm, and sexual pain. She also works with those struggling with hypersexuality/out of control sexual behavior, navigating atypical/unique sexual interests, and moving past difficult sexual experiences and sexual trauma. She works with both individuals and couples and people of all genders and sexual orientations.

In addition to her specialization in treating sexual difficulties, Dr. Yule has received in-depth training in the treatment of anxiety disorders, including Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, generalized anxiety, and social anxiety. She has a particular focus on treating OCD with sexuality-related themes such as pedophilia OCD (POCD) and sexual orientation OCD (SO-OCD).

Dr. Yule has long-standing experience working with trans and gender non-conforming adults of all gender expressions both for gender- and non-gender-related mental health issues. She also has specialized training in gender identity issues, including helping people to explore their gender identity and to navigate transition. She is trained to provide the required gender assessments for those seeking surgical transition.

Dr. Yule's therapeutic approach draws on Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), mindfulness and somatic-based therapies, acceptance-based interventions, and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). She uses interpersonal techniques to help foster stronger relationships (e.g., in relation to conflict or need for assertiveness and communication skills). Dr. Yule finds the use of mindfulness and acceptance-based techniques to be a powerful therapeutic tool that can facilitate profound shifts in clients' experience. Her warm, genuine, and open approach to therapy helps develop a strong client/therapist relationship and she works collaboratively to identify core issues that will result in meaningful and lasting change.

Dr. Yule has published and presented widely in the area of sexuality and sexual dysfunction and authored book chapters on treating OCD. She was awarded multiple academic honours and awards throughout her graduate training and is especially recognized for her ground-breaking studies of asexuality and its assessment.

Dr. Yule has been involved in a range of teaching and supervision activities including supervision of advanced clinicians in assessment and therapy of sexual difficulties, leading training groups for medical students learning to conduct clinical sexuality assessments, and consultation and teaching for clinical residents and health professionals on topics such as CBT for sexual dysfunction and working with transgender clients. She remains committed to her own learning and regularly attends workshops and conferences to further her professional development.
